Hi Newfie

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better.

I can confirm that when using the package unity2d on Ubuntu 10.10 using the steps provided by Newfie that I can reproduce the bug. Therefore I have set this bug to confirmed.

How I reproduced:
Opened up Opera by clicking on icon in Unity.
Minimised Opera to the notification area by right-hand clicking on the Opera Icon in the notification are and selecting 'Hide Opera'.
*I noticed that the arrow in unity disappeared at this point, suggesting that Opera had been closed.
I then clicked on the Opera icon in Unity and Opera appeared with a new tab open.
Instead I would have expected Opera to be unminimised as the application is already running.

This only happens to applications that use the old notification area rather than the new area which has for example the sound applet, because this behaviour cannot be reproduced with application that use applets such as Rhythmbox.
