2010-10-19 10:02:47 Oreolek description Binary package hint: udev I have a A4Tech USB X7 Mouse. It's correctly autoconfigured and working. But udev can randomly check it and find another one: alexander@Cortez:/etc/X11$ cat /var/log/Xorg.0.log|grep mouse [ 26.620] (II) A4Tech USB Full Speed: Found 20 mouse buttons [ 26.620] (II) A4Tech USB Full Speed: Configuring as mouse [ 26.621] (II) config/udev: Adding input device A4Tech USB Full Speed (/dev/input/mouse0) [ 26.636] (II) A4Tech USB Full Speed: Found 1 mouse buttons [ 26.636] (II) A4Tech USB Full Speed: Configuring as mouse The mouse stops working then. Well, almost. The wheel and the right button are still working...but who can work without the LEFT button? The only way to fix it without a reboot is: alexander@Cortez:~$ xinput list ⎡ Virtual core pointer id=2 [master pointer (3)] ⎜ ↳ Virtual core XTEST pointer id=4 [slave pointer (2)] ⎜ ↳ A4Tech USB Full Speed id=8 [slave pointer (2)] ⎜ ↳ A4Tech USB Full Speed id=9 [slave pointer (2)] ⎣ Virtual core keyboard id=3 [master keyboard (2)] ↳ Virtual core XTEST keyboard id=5 [slave keyboard (3)] ↳ Power Button id=6 [slave keyboard (3)] ↳ Power Button id=7 [slave keyboard (3)] ↳ USB2.0_Camera id=10 [slave keyboard (3)] ↳ AT Translated Set 2 keyboard id=11 [slave keyboard (3)] xinput float 9 ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 10.10 Package: udev 162-2.1 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 2.6.35-22.34-generic-pae 2.6.35.4 Uname: Linux 2.6.35-22-generic-pae i686 NonfreeKernelModules: fglrx Architecture: i386 CustomUdevRuleFiles: z80_user.rules Date: Tue Oct 19 16:52:53 2010 InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 10.04 LTS "Lucid Lynx" - Release i386 (20100429) Lsusb: Bus 002 Device 002: ID 09da:8090 A4 Tech Co., Ltd Bus 002 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Linux Foundation 1.1 root hub Bus 001 Device 004: ID 093a:2700 Pixart Imaging, Inc.
