Hi, David. After a boot during which /dev/input/mice is missing, could you run the following commands and attach the output here:
ls -l /dev/input dpkg -l hotplug udev initramfs-tools 'linux-image-*'
Then could you edit /etc/udev/udev.conf, change the udev_log line to say udev_log="debug"; reboot, and attach your /var/log/syslog to this bug.
