Could you provide the following information:

  udevinfo -a -p /class/input/mice

  udevinfo -q all -n input/mice

  udevinfo -d
  (attach this one, rather than pasting)

Also try setting udev_log="debug" in /etc/udev/udev.conf and attach
/var/log/syslog after a boot (you can trim this if you want)
