ack from me. The code looks indeed simple and handable and with two ubuntu core devs being upstream it should be in good hands.
If this requires regular SRUs with just .rules being touched it might make sense to factor those out in their own source package; OTOH, udev-extras is somewhat supposed to be that already, so ...
