Cannot use apt or other binaries installed on the system from the ubuntu-terminal-app snap

terminal app 0.11 (57) 483kB devmode

On a unity8 desktop session as a deb a user cannot execute binaries installed on the system. For example:

$ apt-cache policy unity8
Ubuntu Core does not use apt-get, see 'snap --help'

The root of the issue is in fact a bug in the toolkit [1] that was fixed recently but has not hit ubuntu-app-platform yet. Because of that bug the popup prompting for the user password is not shown.
