Rather than forcing the user to review the list of pages to be updated and downloaded for a release upgrade (very few people will review the list and a lot will simply proceed) it be nice to show this list during the download of packages (both already downloaded and to be downloaded packages) with their size. This allows the user to view the list during the time consuming download and eventually abort the release upgrade if she_he spots some large unnecessary downloads.
Image you are getting impatient for the download to finish and check what's taking so long and then spot all these `texlive` packages, but only installed it to test if you like LaTeX and never bothered to remove it. Then it'd be nice to abort the release upgrade, remove texlive and restart it (where downloads would be resumed due to `apt-get`'s capabilities of reusing and resuming downloads from cache).
