Bug Description

Binary package hint: ubuntu-live

Edgy LiveCD Knot 2 on a Dell Inspiron 630m (XVGA)

Initial splash correct, but can't complete boot process even using the safe graphics mode. It loads all the modules and the last message seen in Configuring X server. Then a black screen with a blinking cursor in the top left corner. Nothing will take you out of that screen, except rebooting the laptop.

I'm running Dapper with the 915resolution package (just in case this bug has anything to do with the screen)

ctl-d freed me up to use ctl-F1 etc. Then I tried ctl-alt-backspace. The xserver quit and the boot proceeded normally. I was even able to install!
