Bug Description

CD boots fine, but when it tries to configure X it hangs on and doesn't go any further. I've tried both normal and fail-safe modes unsuccessfully.

The computer is an Dell Inspiron 510i with 512MB of RAM. The graphic chip is an Intel 82852/855GM. It happened the same after upgrading from Dapper.

There are others reporting problems at the same point in the boot. Do you have a blinking cursor too? Does ctl-d allow you to use ctl-F1 etc. to switch virtual consoles? Does ctl-alt-backspace kill xorg and allow the boot to continue?

Yes, exactly the same. I post in the other bug too. I don't know how to join them into one...
