Martin - you don't need to make a formal merge proposal, it's sufficient to attach the patch to the bug report as you have done.
I've applied your patch with two changes:
1. "make" -> "select" (I think you must have meant "mark" here, but "select" is a better term)
2. Instead of "NB" I've used the <note> tag, which is appropriate for such statements.
For future submissions it's not necessary to make a new changelog entry, we tend to bunch a whole lot of changes together with ubuntu-docs package releases so these will all go in the changelog entry together.
