Confirming problem on my installation of 8.04! It is not possible to finish installation, crashes in cca 90% with message "Command 'grub-install (hd0)'. This is a critical error" (not exactly the same, Im translating message from my language to EN).

I suppose to raise importance of bug from Medium to High - as I see, it affects many Ubuntu distribution...
