Booting from the edgy (i386) installer cd I click on the 'Install' icon and fail to format as reiserFs.
I then do fdisk and mkreiserfs from a konsole and restart the installer.
Unfortunately the installer refused to let me select a partition as root that is reiserFS :(
if I try the 'Prepare mount points' screen will refuse to let me go to the next screen as long as I don't select a partition that is non-reiserfs.
it says that I didn't select a root partition. But I did. And when I go back and reformat that root partition as ext3; then it works.
I don't know what you guys have against ReiserFS, but I have good experiences with it and can't ship this system using a filesystem I don't have good experiences with. |
