Bit more information.
I configured the raid5 instead of raid0+1; now installation works as it
should and I have 10.04.1 installed and working. So, in short: raid0+1
configuration was working in hardy (8.04lts) but during the development
towards 10.04.1 the support has degraded. I don't know whether anyone is
interested but for me this cause ~9months annoying period. As the
support is not in place I had to scrap all my old configurations in the
pc (windows 7 and ubuntu dual boot) and install everything all over. Not
nice!
