This problem happen even with recognition of the RAID disk created with parted utility... il fact, there is a "solution":
- launch Windows XP installation
- erase the RAID Array (logical unit) with Windows installation option, suppress any partition
- create new partition table, format it as the NTFS unit
- install Windows XP
- relaunch the system and install Debian or Ubuntu.....
this way, it works.
so, the problem is somwhere in the partition table of the Array, not only with grub...
