According to the logs, /dev/hdb1 is a bit under 2 GB which explains why the install failed. Since you chose to automatically partition, this shouldn't be happening. I'm temporarily unmarking this as a dupe to make sure it doesn't get lost ( if it turns out to be an original problem)
