Binary package hint: ubiquity

While installing the 10.4 Beta-1 desktop AMD64 the install hangs at the splash screen. I've been unable to recover the logs because I can't get a prompt. I've tried switching terminals, and tried a CTRL+ALT+DELETE. There is no response. The only way I've been able to recover any information is by hitting the power button. The ACPI interupt is caught and I get an ejected CD, with some terminal output. The last line of the terminal output is a prompt asking me to remove the CD and hit enter.

The last line above the CD eject prompt is:
modem-manager: Caught Signal 15,

No matter how long I wait for the installer the last line is always modem-manager.

I'm sorry for this not terribly useful bug report. I've read, https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingUbiquity/AttachingLogs, and I'm still unable to figure out how, in this case, to get a prompt to get at the logs. Any help with this would be getting those logs would be appreciated.
