Comment 7 for bug 49178

I have a nearly identical bug, <a href="https://launchpad.net/distros/ubuntu/+source/ubiquity/+bug/49180">49180</a>, and I am installing on ext3 so maybe it fixed it for you, but I don't think xfs is the source of the bug directly.
