Bug Description
Binary package hint: ubiquity
After Ubuntu 9.10 alpha 6 was installed, the shutdown looked like a big struggle and did not succeed.
It switched between text-mode and graphics-mode each few seconds and after some time it got stuck, while the screen was shaky (background, flickering and some green). I have an nvidia-videocard and pentium 4 processor.

Hi vhindriksen,
Please attach the output of `lspci -vvnn` and `dmesg`, and attach your /var/log/Xorg.0.log (and maybe Xorg.0.log.old) file from after reproducing this issue. If you're using a custom /etc/X11/xorg.conf please attach that as well.
