I expect the system to be installable on any sensible machine and I don't really care if it will be using text mode or graphical installer. If graphical installer is so memory consuming, then there should be text-mode installer also available.

Yes, but my problem is LiveCD, not Windows XP. If it requires swap to install, then there should be tools to make that swap file/swap partition.
