For me, it worked when I ran the install program with the migration assistant option disabled.

Run the live CD, and then, instead of clicking on the 'Install to disk' icon, just open a terminal and execute "sudo ubiquity –no-migration-assistant". I am not sure this is the exact name of the option, but you can look at the help.
