I do not know the name of the packages since this is a problem in the ubuntu installation for desktop and server. And it affects several releases.
It was introduced when the installation client was updated.
I've reported it before but it seems it has been ignored.

It is not possible to install a new version of ubuntu and customize your partitions using encryption and LVM. And it get worse if you have more than one disc.
I am not trying to create a raid, I am just trying to encrypt two disc in separate, add a LVM, and add swap, / and /home on different partitions.

Another case would be to create a raid, encrypt it and install in it.
