I have also just installed the ISO from today, 25 Nov 2021, again using KVM/QEMU with no problems.
I used UEFI mode and allowed the installer to use the whole virtual disk, ie, no manual partitioning.
So for this ISO both the live and virtual OS are working beautifully.
