The installation option to install third-party software doesn't actually install third-party software. At most it enables the option to install third-party software manually, later.
I was expecting to see the third-party software installed on my first reboot, or at least after the first update. But still not installed.
I had to manually install 'ubuntu-restricted-addons' in the end to get what I was expecting.
