I can confirm it on the alpha release of Intrepid, but I have not had the chance to test it on the beta.
This affected Ubuntu, I have not tested either Kubuntu or Xubuntu.
This bug is particularly critical for those who do not need this locale but the plain ca_ES@UTF-8, since they cannot change the dialect from within the session (with language-selector), but they have to logout and change the locale from gdm. There are lots of users who will not be able to do this.
