Comment 4 for bug 147422

I have had exactly the same problem whether using the AMD64 or i386 Live install of the Gutsy beta. The problem seems to be with the partitioning tool itself - if before you try to install you use gParted to manually set up the partitions it also crashes after applying the change and then doing a rescan. The changes are OK, they show up correctly, and running checks on them shows them to be clean. Unfortunately since the Live install insists on formatting / and /boot I was still unable to install Gutsy - during the install I pointed it to the partitions already created, it then hung at 5% as described above. If necessary I have saved my log files from the installs if needed, and also allowed the bug reporting thing to report the crash.
