ah, gotcha, that makes sense. i did cross my mind that perhaps it was looking at the wrong block device when deciding that an existing BIOS-mode install was present.

for what it's worth, this is a very recent regression. I did a successful UEFI-mode install using the Vivid daily ISO from about a week ago.

i'll try today's daily ISO shortly, see if this is still present.
