Upgrade from image prompts creating a new user

Bug Description

When performing an upgrade from the "image" (boot up the ISO) to Xubuntu 13.04, the installer prompts to create a new user.

Is this expected behaviour when performing an OS upgrade? Shouldn't the installer simply keep existing users?

Entering the same username and password as what is currently on the system works.

Entering the same username but different password changes the password (as probably expected), but is a possible security issue.

Both of Sean's and my installations were clean installations of Quantal for testing purposes. I will follow up with the needed logs later.

Since this is an upgrade to an existing system, the only action required is to upgrade the *buntu release (infrastructure and depencencies). I suggest creating a capability to bypass the entry of user information as the upgrade default. The computer name should be defaulted to what is there already with an option (not requirement) to change it. Or, just skip this screen altogether for upgrades (might be easier).

Re-entering the user information during an infrastructure upgrade just complicates the process and confuses the operator. If the local administration would like to change anything, they can readily do so once the upgrade has completed.

In addition to the logs - a note.

When I upgraded with the image I got the name of the original user wrong - so now I have /home/elfy that I can log into, the old home folder /home/hob appears to be completely empty.

Good job I added the logs from the live session rather than boot.
