Unfortunately this issue is still present in the 13.04 Beta. As nearly every of the 249 countries _except_ US, IN, CA, AU, HK, NZ, ZA, MY, SG,PH uses a non US keyboard layout, this issue affects in my opinion a very large user base.

Proposal: As temporary interims workaround provide a least a text hint about the US keymap in the dialog where the user enters his volume password?
