Why does a game server fall into other category as another servers? An FTP server does mean a security flaw, however if I install an FTP server I am (should be) aware of its dangers.
If I install a game server (that is in another package than the game) am I not supposed to know what am I doing? But none of the game servers should be installed by default with the game (since they won't be needed most of the time).

If I remember correctly, there are some packages that install servers but ask if they should be started automatically (I cannot think of another example but the CVS pserver, there might be some another as well).
