I reinstalled my Ubuntu 16.04LTS on my Lenovo X230 and used a self created packet list to reinstall automatic all my software. As there was NO repository configured for the ppa:linrunner/tlp it installed by accident the version from ubuntu sources: "tp-smapi-dkms_0.41-1_all.deb".
linrunner already set what is wrong (0.41-1 won't compile with a kernel >= 4.7).
It upgraded the tp-smapi-dkms and the error seems now gone and away. Just to consider this information, maybe it helps you. I am open for feedback here.
hello all,
I reinstalled my Ubuntu 16.04LTS on my Lenovo X230 and used a self created packet list to reinstall automatic all my software. As there was NO repository configured for the ppa:linrunner/tlp it installed by accident the version from ubuntu sources: "tp-smapi- dkms_0. 41-1_all. deb".
linrunner already set what is wrong (0.41-1 won't compile with a kernel >= 4.7).
After adding the repository ppa:linrunner/tlp and reinstalled the tlp services from the wiki (http:// thinkwiki. de/TLP_ -_Linux_ Stromsparen) as described:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:linrunner/tlp
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install tlp tlp-rdw
sudo apt-get install tp-smapi-dkms acpi-call-dkms
It upgraded the tp-smapi-dkms and the error seems now gone and away. Just to consider this information, maybe it helps you. I am open for feedback here.
Kind regards
luckyrings
