Bug Description

videos aren't synchronized when using totem-gstreamer. I have a laptop (386) & a
amd64. This happens on both
machines. I have to use totem-xine to have smooth video playback. Using breezy,
in hoary this was horrible as well.

Thanks for your bug. What audiosink and videosink do you use? Do you use esd?
Does it happen if you use directly alsa?

Ok, the problem is with esd. I've switched the audiosink to alsa & it's far better.
I'm using the XWindows (X11/XShm/Xv) sinc for video.

I'm using breezy up to date. (0.8.11)
My problem with multimedia is that xine has a better
playback, I have some issues with divx & gstreamer, I've filed a bug
about it in launchad (since gstreamer ffmpeg is in universe)

The problem is that we can't switch to ALSA by default since it still breaks for
too many people. For people with supported soundcards, switching to ALSA is
currently the best solution.

Dapper now uses ALSA gstreamer output by default (unless your card does not
support dmix, but those should be the minority). Therefore I close this bug now;
please complain if you still have problems with latest dapper (it works well for
me and several other people now).

Thanks!
