I'm waiting for totem to have this fixed for years!

I stream (wirelessly) videos all the time from my home-server on a LAN network and on HD content, I'd love to pause and see totem keep buffering the video (just like YouTube does).

Most of the time (with HD videos) I have to copy some GBs to my hard-drive, wait for it it to download the whole thing and then watch it.

That would be great if there was an input field on the preferences to set the stream-buffer value on non-local files.

Also, the network-buffer-threshold isn't for this. It states on the "Long description" » "Amount of data to buffer for network streams before starting to display the stream (in seconds)".

It's different. It's some kind of unit that defines how much data it has to buffer before auto-start playing.
