I tried that tutorial steps in different combinations - with both username and e-mail instead the username, with "recent:" and without that, with tick on option "hold messages on server" and without the tick.

That exercises gave result, now I am downloading the rest of my messages in portions of 300-400 per each portion.

Why I thing it may be a thunderbird's bug? Because I did not experience such problems with Outlook Express or TheBat!
