protz, are you using the fastmail imap server, or an other imap server that supports compress? You can try toggling mail.server.default.use_compress_deflate to see if it makes the crash go away.

Do you have empty trash/expunge inbox on exit set? I wonder if this is some failure to connection problems in the decompress code...
