@sausagefactory0, do you have any empiric evidence supporting your statement that GIFs don't have any valid use cases?

If not, then IMHO this kind of attitude to conclude from one's personal opinion that the "rest of the world" (or to put it in this context here: "all other users of Thunderbird other than yourself") without any doubt will see it the same way, is very dangerous and can lead to really bad decisions resulting in loss of the user/customer base.
