I wanted to say NNN in "NNN open DB's" of next log by the "number".

 If problem of "MsgDB is never closed" occurs, the NNN increases as if infinitely. So, I'm confident that such problem doesn't exist in your environment by your answer. Thanks for your log analysis.

Note: "PPP hdrs in use" is probably similar to "PPP mails are held in the folder".
