Initially, thunderbird segfaulted on me which is probably related to Bug #532128 and Bug #507089 . After activating nscd, thunderbird does not segfault anymore but immediately exits after being started as described above. This affects only LDAP-managed users, whereas local users can start thunderbird fine.
Could this be a dupe of Bug #507089 ?
