In the new message layout we're showing reply buttons on the message itself (please see linked bug). When you receive a message from a mailing list the reply button will be a (reply to list) button instead of a regular reply button. If you wanted to reply to the individual sender only then you'd use the popup menu off the sender's email address which will have a "Reply to Sender" option.
