i'm facing the same issue i copied my profile from ubuntu 8.10 and it keep crashing with or without -safe-mode

my .xsession-errors have entires like this:
(thunderbird-bin:2225): GLib-WARNING **: g_set_prgname() called multiple times
Segmentation fault
