Here's another example of the silliness of this bug:
Shredder starts and attempts to check my Hotmail email. Authentication fails and Shredder reports, "Sending of password did not succeed. Mail server pop3.live.com responded: authentication server unavailable, please try later."
Nevertheless, Shredder completely ignores the server response message and immediately asks me to enter my password again!
In addition to making "Cancel" not forget password, MailNews Core Shredder desparately needs a way to determine the reason for an authentication failure--rather than treating every authentication failure as a bad password issue.
