I have this problem too. It occoured in Thunderbird 2.x as well in my currently used 3.0.6 (the Ubuntu package version). This bug exists since 2004 -- could somebody please fix it? It is very annoying to klick this dialogs on each startup. I think about switching back to another feed reader and mail client :(
