Bug Description

Binary package hint: thunderbird

Hardy Heron Beta latest updates (as of 2008-04-08). Crashed while "Starting Mozilla Thunderbird" - did not get as far as displaying the Thunderbird window.
Was working OK with Hardy Heron Beta when kernel was 2.6.24-12 but started to fail when kernel moved to 2.6.24-14 and still fails with 2.6.24-15.

Booting this latest Hardy Heron Beta with the older kernel 2.6.24-12, Thunderbird works OK.

In all cases (working and crashing), the 'Path=' in my profile.ini has pointed to a drive on another machine which is mounted using CIFS from fstab.

I have now done a fresh install of the released Ubuntu 8.04, which is using kernel 2.6.24-16. Thunderbird is still failing in the same way. Is there any more I can do to help? Peter Alderson

Yes, I have more problems with Thunderbird. I can't find the ical
(online calendar) button to configure. I have the same config that I had
before, with Ubuntu 7.10, but it doesn't run.

Thank you very much.

Thank you Peter to answer the bug

How are we on the latest kernel for hardy? TB works great for me at least on 2.6.24-21-generic.

Hi i've marked bug # 213917 as dup from this one (same stack traces and apport error)

If both reporters can help us confirming with hardy as Dereck 's suggestion

If the problem persist we wold need more info about your systems in order to completely triage this bug.

Thanks for your help and support

Hi!

I have the 2.6.24-19-generic kernel version, and for the moment I have
any problems with Thunderbird.

I have to add that I have been using the lightning extension and it runs
good too.

Thank you very much.
