I tried the latest Thunderbird 112 beta 6 and unfortunately the situation is still the same. I also managed to capture a profile of simply moving the mouse cursor vertically across the message pane window. My CPU usage goes up to 25% (on a 4-core CPU) while doing so: https://share.firefox.dev/3zvwCZH
