On my 4.2GHz i7 running Fedora 34 I regularly (20-30 times in an 8-hour day) have the UI freeze until GNOME's "application not responding, wait or kill" message appears. I'd respectfully suggest S3 is much too low.

thunderbird/thunderbird-wayland 91.1.0-1.fc34.x86_64 (installed from RPM).
