in the actial trunk 20021209-08 I found the dropdown for "filtering" the
posting/email-tree.

So I tried to create a filter for my own:
- I opened the dropdown and chose "customize"
- in the dropdown with the available fields (to, sender, subject,..) I chose
"customize" again
- I entered "User-Agent"
- I created a filter "User-Agent contains 2002"
- I activated the filter
- "no matched"

The same was when I was trying to catch the "newsgroups"-header. It won't work
too. If using the given header-fields (like subject, to, cc, sender,..) my own
filter will work

Another thing: The filter won't remember if It should match "any of the
following" oder "all of the following"
