autosync_max_age_days does not appear to be working in precise (12.04). I had a clean precise install (VM and on real hardware). I changed the setting to limit the downloads to 14 days. I then setup my gmail account (IMAP) and thunderbird is downloading everythnig, headers and messages, with no apparent time limit. I expect this feature to either a) only download emails < 14 days old or b) download all headers, but only message bodies < 14 days old, it is doing neither.

For example, I have a folder called "Family". Thunderbird has pulled 11M of emails from that folder, which is every single message. Using vi, I can see that it not only pulled all the headers, but all the text of emails back to 2004, including attachments. I stopped using this Folder a long time ago, in fact the most recent email is from 2007, so why is it pulling any of these?

I can provide some sanitized mail files or headers if needed or logs. Let me know what you need.
