Just needed this feature as well - didn't Mozilla Mail have this option already?
I just needed to send an article from a non-public webpage to a colleague so
sending the link was not possible. This is where HTML-mail is really useful
(i.e. 1% of all cases;)

So my usage-pattern would also be isolated HTML-sending, I'd not want FB to
change my account-setting (would be unexpected, since I applied the setting to a
single mail only).

Will this feature make it into 1.0.1?
