As per yesterday's discussion, we do not actually want to store the fingerprint in the user's home directory, so this needs some more work first.

While it does have the problem of allowing the user to modify their own fingerprints, I think that the alternatives result in code that isn't sufficiently tested or stable enough to support for an LTS.

I think we should accept thinkfinger for hardy, and migrate to a better fprint-based solution for 8.10 when we've had time to do more testing. The fingerprint files are migratable.
