Bug Description

Binary package hint: install-info

Try upgrading to 11.04 all worked fine but I received a message that install-info failed. Searched ubuntu and google websites and could only see suggestions to try it again which also failed. One post said that an error in the /etc/environment file can cause this problem. My environment file reads: PATH="/usr/local/sbin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/sbin:/usr/bin:/sbin:/bin:/usr/games"
LC_TIME='en_AU.utf8" Not sure if anything is missing from here.

Thank you for your bug report. The problem is line 2 of your /etc/environment file:
LC_TIME='en_AU.utf8"

It uses an opening single quote but a closing double quote -- this has to be consistent. BTW, you do not need any quotes at all, i.e. you could use:
LC_TIME=en_AU.utf8

I am closing this bug as invalid as it is not a bug in texinfo, please continue to report any other bugs you may find.

Changed in texinfo (Ubuntu):
status: New → Invalid
