After a fresh clean ubuntu 10.04 install. This error popped out after installing vim, vim-script, vim-latex.

Completely remove texlive-binary package seems to solve the problem

Same problem here after upgrading from Karmik. Removing tex does solve the problem, apart from not having tex, which is still quite a problem to me.

Re-install texlive-binary was a success. So the issue doesn't bother me anymore.
